RedBag Admin Dashboard
Problem #1
The dashboard page was clunky and not very clean. It was also hard to make sense of the data on the page, as well as what the calls-to-action are for communications.
Solution
Cleaned up the layout to fit in a grid so that it has a balanced look.
Adjusted the map and live updates to be collapsable so that the stats and CTA’s on the bottom are more visible without scrolling.
Changed the layout of the ‘Room Status’ and broke it down to colors and numbers so it is more easy to digest the status of each room so that the administrators know which rooms are safe and which ones need help.
For the chat functionality, the wording was changed to emphasize that chats are for emergency.
For building and room broadcats, they were sepated into their own individual boxes with clear buttons to know how to compose a broadcast or a message. Also, to differentiate between them we used the words ‘broadcast’ and ‘message’ so they aren’t confused for the same thing.

OPTION 2
Problem #2
The chat panel was jumbled and not clear as to how to start or end a conversation, or how to switch between rooms.
Solution
Took the same idea for what was done to fix the mobile chat feature and converted it to the admin chat panel. Listed on the left the rooms with conversations that have started, with the conversation on the right, with clear buttons for how to start a conversation and how to end a conversation.
Problem #3
Admins usually have standard messages that can be reused to communicate with the entire building, but there was no way to select a premade template. There was only a way to type a message, but even then the flow was clunky and didn’t make perfect sense.
Solution
Cleaned up the flow so when the button to compose a broadcast is clicked on, the first step is select a template: blank, fastest room, begin clearing rooms, or all clear. Then based on what is selected you can pick ones of the ones of the message options, or write a custom messag, and then send.
Problem #4
The flow was off for how to compose a message and select a room. It wasn’t intuitive how to do both.
Solution
Fixed and simplified the flow so that after clicking the ‘Compose Message’ button, the first step is to type out the message, then select the room to send the message to.
